Assessments
We use assessments primarily to measure student learning and gather data for instructional decisions. We also use assessments to measure the quality and effectiveness of our educational programs.
The Ames Community School District uses assessments that are aligned with Board-approved curriculum. Each year, we post the schedule of Board-approved assessments comprising our Comprehensive Assessment Plan to ensure consistent assessment windows across the district.
Data and Reports
The terms data and assessment are often used synonymously. While gathering data through formative and summative assessments is important, the District also gathers information as it relates to social and emotional learning, school satisfaction, engagement, and more.
