The Ames Community School District announced Robert Addy as the new Director of Facilities in May of 2024. Addy previously was the Director of Maintenance and Operations at the Shenandoah Community School District, a position he has held since 2020. In his current role, Addy plans and directs the work of all maintenance personnel involved in daily building operations, performs project management, develops specifications for all facilities and ground repairs, oversees the maintenance side of the transportation department, and ensures regulatory compliance.

Before joining the Shenandoah Schools, Addy was a facilities maintenance technician for the Omaha Public Power District and a maintenance lead for NCECBVI in Nebraska. His experience in both building and facilities maintenance including HVAC and electrical, and maintaining and repairing building components and equipment will serve Addy well as the Director of Facilities.

“My goal is to lead a staff who impacts the school district in an effective and efficient manner,” said Addy. “I am eager to provide excellent services and am driven to do my best for a school system to support learning and high quality services to students. .”

Addy holds an Associates of Applied Science from Southeast Community College Milford Campus, as well as a number of certifications including electromechanical technician, industrial electronics, and more. As a District, we are excited to work with Addy and look forward to his leadership within the Ames CSD. He begins work on July 1, 2024.
