The Story Pals program provides quality reading experiences for 4 and 5 year old preschoolers and supports the development of language and early literacy skills. The intended goal is to increase participant readiness for school and help lay the foundation necessary for them to become proficient readers. Your child will meet with a Story Pal Volunteer twice weekly for 30 minutes each session.
Volunteers are trained to work with students using a research-based Dialogic Reading method to develop background knowledge and vocabulary, grow spoken language skills and encourage children to use reading comprehension elements to retell stories and make literary connections to their personal experiences.
Registration is open for our June 4-27 session | Tuesdays and Thursdays | 2:30, 3:00, 3:30 or 4:00
