The Ames Community School District is excited to announce Lyle Fedders as the new Activities Director of Ames High School. He is currently the Director of Activities and Equity at Des Moines East High School, a position he has held since 2013.

In his current position, Fedders supervises and evaluates extracurricular and co-curricular activities, including high school coaches. He also serves as the liaison to the booster club and maintains the school’s athletic hall of fame. Throughout his time at East High School, Fedders has been active in local, state, and national conferences. In 2019, he was named the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association Central District Athletic Director of the Year and was a finalist for the state recognition.

Ames High has a strong tradition in athletics, fine arts, and student-led clubs. As a District, we are excited to work with Mr. Fedders and look forward to his leadership within the Ames Community School District and Ames High. His new position will begin on July 1, 2021.
