With over 20 years of experience as an educational leader, Dr. Hawkins is a dynamic communicator who has a passion for education that sets him apart from his peers. He received his Doctorate in Educational Administration from Drake University in 2010.
Dr. Dumas is currently serving as Director of Learning for Hastings Public Schools in Hastings, Nebraska. In this position, he has led strategic planning for school improvements, professional development sessions for principals and teachers, and allocated financial resources to maximize student learning. With a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska, Dr. Dumas has received national and state awards for his research and initiatives. He has authored several publications and is an active presenter at state and national conferences.
The school board approved both contracts on April 22, 2019, with a start date of July 1, 2019. As a District, we are excited to begin working with both Dr. Hawkins and Dr. Dumas and look forward to the leadership and vast knowledge that they will bring to the Ames Community School District.
