Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
Our teachers and staff are the foundation of the Ames Community School District. During the week of May 8-12, 2023, we’re joining together with our District Office, building PTO/PTA organizations, and parent volunteers to celebrate amazing and thank our teachers and staff for making a resounding difference in the lives of our students and families.
Our progress as a District is due in large part to the hard work of our teachers and staff. They spend countless hours lesson planning, mentoring, coaching, serving, communicating, leading, nurturing, and inspiring students. You are loved and supported by your District and school communities, not just this week, but every week of the year. We are grateful to have you in our District and thank you for the work you have done to help our students thrive.
Show Your Support
There are many ways you can show your support for our teachers and staff during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week whether you are near or far.
- Update your profile with one of the profile images available below. Or post one of our graphics on your account to show your favorite teacher or staff member how much they inspire us every day.
- Participate in any of the theme days you would like. Let’s show everyone that the most amazing teachers and staff are right here in Ames.
- Share a photo of a favorite memory with teachers or thank a special teacher with a shoutout on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Don’t forget to tag the Ames CSD and use the hashtag #AmazingAmesCSD to lift up our teachers and staff.

Theme Days
Social Media Monday
On Monday, May 8, there will be no school for grades K-12 for professional development, so let’s make someone’s day with a virtual shout-out on social media. Spread some sunshine while you tell us about a teacher or staff member who made a difference in you or your student’s life. Make sure to tag us and use our special hashtag #AmazingAmesCSD!

Thank You Tuesday
Write a short note to a special teacher or staff member and tell them how amazing they are. Anyone can write a special note to our teachers and staff! Notes are available online and in buildings. Special notes available for teachers and staff to write notes of appreciation to each other too.
